On Effort

"Getting dirty", applying "sweat equity" in our life tasks has become equated with "low-priority (low-wage), unnecessary" labor. As a society, we'd rather pay the bare minimum for our dishes to be done / meals to be cooked / emails to be handled / phone calls to be taken / homes to be cleaned / errands to be run / children to be nannied / pets to be fed / dirty laundry to be washed / lawns to be tended to than to do it (on any level) by ourselves. We express laziness through bribing, stealing, and coercing for original ideas and revelations, versus mining for and exercising our unique reserves of creativity. We've gotten good at making a complete mess in the act of expressing "genius / progress / innovation", while looking down on those who come after us to clean it up. Effort is the jewel that unfurls true genius and creative drive. Success that grows with time, unlocks prosperous overflow, and gifts expanded joy, roots from taking full responsibility for all of our actions. When we accept that what we exude into the world from our own body, speech, and mind is ours alone to organize and refresh, then, applying energy in completing "mundane" tasks becomes dynamic appreciation. We're now capable of highly valuing (and deeply compensating) the labored work others sacrifice and gift toward making our lives better.
